Two recent examples show what you are up against if you live in a sanctuary city.
A police officer let a double homicide suspect walk free because he is an illegal immigrant. (1)
Instead of enforcing the law, the officer explained how his hands are tied by sanctuary city rules. The police officer said:
"Because it’s a sanctuary city, we do not report illegal, undocumented immigrants.”
Democrats have made it a priority to protect illegals over the safety and security of American citizens.

Another example of sanctuary city horrors, is from New York City, where illegals make up 75% of arrests in midtown Manhattan. In parts of Queens, the figure is more than 60%. (2)
Word has gotten out in the shelters housing illegals about the city’s bail guidelines. Illegals know they’re going to get put back onto the street right after being arrested.
Sanctuary city laws allow the crime problem to grow and worsen. Some illegals are often back on the streets and break the law, sometimes committing horrific crimes such as child rape, murder and other crimes as quickly as they were released.
In Queens, a police officer estimated that “more than 60%” of the people arrested in Jackson Heights are migrants, whose offenses involve such crimes such as robbery, grand larceny and assault. (2)
Roosevelt Avenue and 91st Street looks like a Third World country. Elmhurst, along Roosevelt Avenue, has experienced a 22% rise in crime compared to last year, committed mostly by illegals, and putting it in second place for the worst increase of crime citywide, Central Park in Manhattan being in first place.
Business owners and residents said they’ve watched the neighborhood become a crime-riddled slum.
“Word has gotten out that you can come to New York to commit crimes and attack police officers and be out the next day. That message needs to change in order to keep dangerous people off our city streets.” (2)
