Map of attacks on Catholic statues and parishes during a 6-month period in 2020
A few examples: St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Dorchester, MA; a garbage barrel was placed over the head of the Virgin Mary. The statue of Mary at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, also in Dorchester, was set on fire. A statue of the Virgin Mary at Cathedral Prep School in Queens, NY was vandalized. “IDOL” was painted on the statue.
Right: Daily Tweets from CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood in America, promote the idea that Muslims make up the largest numbers of victims of hate crimes.
But for decades, Jews have been the highest number of victims of religious hate crimes. And now, once a rare event, not only are churches being attacked and vandalized, Christian victims of hate crimes are rapidly growing (taken from the FBI chart at bottom of page): Attacks on Jews 1,032 Attacks on Christians 204 Attacks on Muslims 227 Though attacks on Muslims appear to be higher than those on Christians, most reports of Muslims being victims of hate crimes turn out to be hoaxes. Examples: |
Muslim woman falsely claims that Trump supporters tore off her hijab in a New York subway. She later confessed that she lied.
Muslim woman at University of Michigan claimed a man threatened to light her on fire if she didn't remove her hijab: it turned out to be a lie.
Louisiana Muslim woman claimed that two white men, one wearing a Trump hat, attacked and robbed her and ripped off her hijab while yelling racial slurs. She later confessed to lying about the whole thing.
Student wrote anti-Muslim graffiti on his own door
Ahmad Saad Nasim lied to cops about being assaulted and pelted with eggs while assailants screamed "Die, Muslim, die!" Nasim later confessed to fabricating the attack after attempting a second hate crime hoax.
Three other instances in which American Muslims – Mazhar Tabesh, Nezar Maad, and Aqil Yassom Al-Timimi – won sympathy as victims of "hate crimes" only to have it turn out that they were actually the perps: More Muslim hate crime myths
The owner of a Middle Eastern market in Texas said his business was set on fire due to a hate crime--ended up arrested on a felony arson charge: he set fire to his own business and was charged with arson.
Saleh Nawash, a leader at the Islamic Mosque of Cleveland, also an owner of a market, plotted a fire to look like a hate crime. He later pleaded guilty to conspiracy, aggravated arson and insurance fraud :more hate crime myths
The Oregonian reported that Shehab Ahmed was kicked off an airplane. The story was also a top story on KGW news. Here's what actually happened: Shehab Ahmed missed his plane home to Portland from LAX because he got to the airport too late. When he tried to get on another flight, Shehab's name seemed to match a name on the terrorist watch list. The ticket agent asked for ID, Shehab showed his ID and was immediately allowed onto the flight—his name did not match the name on the watch list.
Shehab hadn't been yanked out of line, nor was he taken to a special room for questioning as he claimed. In fact, government agents—TSA personnel—were not involved. There was no TSA or FBI report because there was no incident.
But the incident was written up by the newspapers and appeared on TV news. The story was never updated and people were allowed to continue thinking a Muslim was persecuted. CAIR got involved and promoted the story. Muslim hate crime myths
Musa Shteiwi, a restaurant owner in Ohio had been reported as a victim of repeated hate crimes via attempts to burn down his store. The day after the third attack, this story of anti-Muslim hatred was proven untrue. Arson investigators determined that the fires were conducted by Xenia, his son and an employee.
Tamsir Mendy, a self-declared devout Muslim, set fire to the mosque he attended regularly in Marietta, GA and allowed everyone to believe it was a hate crime against Muslims. It turned out to be a hoax.
Shaima Alawadi, a hijab-wearing immigrant, was found bludgeoned to death in her home near San Diego. CAIR ran with the story and labeled it as a hate crime. A note had been found near her body saying, "This is my country, go back to yours terrorist." It turned out Alawadi's husband had murdered her and tried to make it look like a hate crime.
A fire was set at a storefront mosque in Savoy Plaza in Houston, TX and CAIR insinuated that Donald Trump was responsible. But surveillance tapes showed the perp was a Muslim who regularly attended the mosque.
There are many more examples of Muslims creating hoax hate crimes. And sadly, though news agencies report these "hate crimes" they rarely, if ever, correct the story once it's discovered that they were hoaxes; thereby misleading the public.
