Chapter 2. The Revolution: U.S. Involvement

The U.S. government uses Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to interfere with foreign governments. An NGO is a government-funded organization set up to support "non-government" efforts.
In the 1970s, there were investigations into CIA attempts to destabilize foreign governments. As a result, to prevent future investigations, NGOs were created as front groups to fund and conceal CIA activity. These groups include the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), US Agency for International Development (USAID), the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Freedom House, and the International Republican Institute (IRI).
In the early 1980s, an organization funded by IRI called the Albert Einstein Institution (AEI) developed a strategy for removing governments. Modifying AEI technique, CIA operatives created seminars that taught paramilitaries how to create violent civil disobedience (called resistance) in order to provoke a response from police or security forces. Once police or security forces arrive, a false flag event is enacted, which provides pretense for government change.
These CIA coup training camps were partially funded by the IRI, which was chaired by John McCain from 1993 until 2018.
In 1999, this training was given to Serbian opposition, who called themselves Otpor! (Resistance!). USAID funneled millions of dollars to Otpor! through NED, NDI, IRI, and the Open Society Institute, a George Soros organization.
Otpor! was successful at removing the Serbian government, so the Center for Applied Non-Violent Action and Strategies (CANVAS) was created. CANVAS became the front for CIA coup training and went on to train coup leaders from the Ukraine, Georgia, Tunisia, Syria and Egypt.
In 2008, the U.S. State Department held an Alliance of Youth Movements Summit. At this summit were representatives from mass media giants such as Google, Facebook, YouTube, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC (Cartalucci "Google's Revolution Factory"; Howley "Hillary Clinton Sponsored Secret"; Youth Movements 2008).
Various youth groups attended the State Department Summit, including members of Egypt's April 6th Youth Movement and Muslim Brotherhood Youth. The summit was a recruiting and coordinating center for revolutionists. It linked revolutionists with media giants and funneled the revolutionists to CIA coup training centers.
The principal strategy taught at coup training is to create a façade protest where a false flag event can be implemented.
Using bad economy, unemployment, or some other pretext, a protest is organized. Then, using media giants to promote the protest, and to propagandize and broadcast the protest, a false flag event is executed. The media giants display the event for millions to witness; the violence is blamed on "regime" forces, and, governments are removed.
To create momentum for a protest, the revolutionists were aided by Facebook, YouTube and Google, and this is why the State Department included these organizations at the Summit. The Egyptians who created the January 2011 protest had attended the Summit, met with Google, Facebook and mainstream media representatives, and were sent to a coup training center.
Members of the April 6th Youth Movement and Muslim Brotherhood Youth learned how to use social media to form a protest and to keep that protest going for days. CNN, MSNBC and other media promoted the protest and falsely portrayed members of the April 6th Youth Movement and Muslim Brotherhood Youth as heroes fighting for democracy. After the Muslim Brotherhood implemented the false flag event of violence, media went into high gear promoting anti-government propaganda.
A key player in the "Arab Spring" protests of 2011 was al-Qaeda. Historically, al-Qaeda has worked in tandem with the Muslim Brotherhood.
By 2009, the U.S. State Department was well aware that Osama bin Laden was only the figurehead of al-Qaeda and that Ayman Zawahiri was the group's strategic and operational planner (see: Counter Extremism Project). After the death of Osama bin Laden in May 2011, Obama began repeatedly stating that al-Qaeda was no longer a threat (Obama: al-Qaeda). But this was a deliberate lie, purposefully said to hide the truth behind the activities that were taking place. Al-Qaeda was involved in every Arab Spring country and was working in tandem with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Libya.
Obama told the lie at least 32 times (Lucas 2012), but the fact was, after bin Laden's death, under Zawahiri's leadership, al-Qaeda's calls to jihad for a caliphate intensified worldwide and al-Qaeda spread like wildfire throughout North and Central Africa, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan (see: al-Qaeda has intensified).
Starting in early 2011, the Obama administration fully backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and openly began supporting the "rebel" groups who were attempting to overthrow the Syrian government. These rebel groups were formed by the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda (see: Syrian Opposition Groups Defined).
In 2012, a memo and intelligence report were sent to Obama administration officials and government agencies stating that the Obama administration supported al-Qaeda in Iraq and that the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda were the catalysts behind rebel forces in Syria (2012 Intel doc; Dept. of Defense August 12; see also, Berens "U.S. trained and armed").
The Obama administration supported the terrorist "rebel" forces starting in 2011 when they were first created and continued supporting them throughout the Obama presidency. Millions of dollars were spent training, arming and funding al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood forces (Berens "US trained and armed").
Al-Qaeda was also a major force in Libya.
Intelligence and State Department documents show the Obama administration was well aware of an al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group in Libya plotting an attack on American citizens before the attack took place. The documents also show the U.S. had been monitoring the movements of weapons from Libya to Syria starting in October 2011 (see: "Defense and State Department Documents").
Additionally, before his murder, a cable from Ambassador Chris Stevens was sent to the Secretary of State stating there were approximately ten al-Qaeda training camps and Islamist militias in Benghazi (FoxNews Exclusive; see also: The Arming of Benghazi).
Yet even after the Benghazi attack and murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens, when Libyan President el-Magarief, members of Congress, administration spokespersons, and several reports stated that al-Qaeda had played a role in the 2012 Benghazi attack that killed U.S. citizens, Obama continued to say that al-Qaeda had been decimated and was no longer a threat (Obama: decimated).
An Intel report had previously reported that the Muslim Brotherhood has branches in more than 70 countries and that the Brotherhood had "reached global status, wielding power and influence in almost every state with a Muslim population" (see: Roots of Violent Extremism).
According to Intel reports, al-Qaeda, too, had reached global status, with bases or a large presence in Afghanistan, Algeria, CAR, Chad, Egypt, Iraq, Kenya, Libya, Mali, Pakistan, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Uganda, and Yemen (see: al-Qaeda has intensified; al-Qaeda Many Faces).
According to the Intel reports, the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Qaeda have the identical goals of restoring the historical Caliphate, expanding its authority over the entire world, and dismantling all non-Islamic governments.
The facts were: al-Qaeda had joined forces with the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow the Libyan government; al-Qaeda had joined forces with the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow the Egyptian government; al-Qaeda had joined forces with the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow the Syrian government.
Furthermore, the Islamic State of Iraq was created in 2010 from al-Qaeda in Iraq, and, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) was the merger of al-Qaeda in Iraq with al-Qaeda in Syria.
Al-Qaeda was a very serious threat—and the Obama administration knew it and supported it.
