The World Health Organization (WHO) uses the term "Disease X" to refer to an infection or virus that may cause an epidemic or new global pandemic.
The WHO has been warning global leaders about a future pandemic at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting and it has gotten people asking:
What might Disease X be?

According to the annual report of the Federal Select Agent Program, which is a joint effort of the CDC, NIH and U.S. Department of Agriculture, there have been 219 reported releases of biological agents or toxins from bio-labs in the U.S.
The Federal Select Agent Program was set up to manage the transport and use of some of the most dangerous biological agents and toxins in the world.
Bio-labs work with dangerous agents that causes disease, viruses, bacterium and fungus, but also, maximum security bio-labs work with ricin (a highly potent toxin), Ebola (a viral hemorrhagic fever), and anthrax (a bacterial infection which spreads via skin, inhalation and intestinally).
Added to the known bio-labs that exist throughout the U.S., there are illegal bio-labs that exist undercover, such as the illegal Chinese-owned lab recently discovered in California.
The illegal lab contained 20 infectious agents. It also contained nearly 1,000 laboratory mice, hundreds of unknown chemicals, refrigerators and freezers, vials of bio-hazardous materials, including blood, incubators, and at least 20 infectious agents, including SARS-CoV-2, HIV, and a herpes virus.
How many of these 'illegal' labs have not yet been discovered? And what do they contain?
Recently it was reported that the U.S. is collaborating with Chinese scientists to make bird flu strains more infectious and deadly. The project involves infecting ducks and geese with different strains of bird flu to make them more transmissible and infectious and with the potential to jump to people.
Another bio-lab is being built in Colorado and will import bats from around the world and experiment with dangerous diseases. This bat bio-lab, a $12 million dollar taxpayer-funded NIH research facility, will import bats from Asia and infect them with deadly diseases.
The lab is a project in coordination with China-linked scientists and could store and study some of the most transmissible and dangerous pathogens on the planet.
The project is a collaboration between Dr Anthony Fauci's old department at the National Institutes of Health, Colorado State University and EcoHealth Alliance, a controversial research group.
Safety for all bio-labs is a concerning issue, but especially for bio-safety level 4 labs (BSL4).
There are 59 "known" bio-labs in the world that have a bio-safety level 4 (BSL4). These labs handle the most dangerous pathogens on the planet, and for which no treatment or vaccines exist. Only a quarter of these highly dangerous labs score high on safety.
Around 60% of BSL4 labs are government-run public-health institutions; 20% are run by universities; and 20% are run by bio-defense agencies.
The Global Health Security Index, which measures whether countries have legislation, regulations, oversight agencies and training on bio-safety, suggests that most of those level 4, maximum level labs are not safe.
Led by the US-based Nuclear Threat Initiative, the Global Health Security Index shows that only about one-quarter of countries with BSL4 bio-labs received high scores for safety and security.
Maximum level laboratories are located around the world. There are 25 in Europe; 14 in North America; 13 in Asia; 4 in Australia; and 3 in Africa.
Of the Level 4 bio-labs worldwide, more than 75% of them are located in urban centers where a virus could spread with ease.
